Chamomile Tea Mask For Blemishes & Swelling + Its Benefits

Hey love,

So I decided to add Chamomile tea to my weekly masks because of the numerous health and medicinal benefits it contains.

It acts as a great moisturizer, reduces swelling and poses powerful healing, anti-oxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Through its anxiolytic and antioxidant properties, Chamomile is very effective in treating acne, wounds, sunburns, and, scars on the skin surface.

It was one of those remedies I tested out in hopes to reverse the acne scars and dry skin I experienced as a result of a bad break out last year. After a few masks later I was sold! My blemishes reduced overtime and swelling around my eyes and cheeks subdued.

I absolutely love what it does to my skin!

Now we all know that coconut oil is the holy grail and omega of all oils! Adding that to the mask is another GREAT bonus to keep your skin moisturized, soft and blemish free.

Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself!

  Here are the ingredients:

DIY your own mask in 5 simple steps:

Step 1: Once you have all of your main ingredients, in a small container, add a teaspoon of coconut oil.

Step 2: Next add three drops of your choice of essential oils. My top three essential oils I like to use is lemon, frankincense, and rosemary. All three oils have similar healing properties as chamomile, so I added three drops of each.

Step 3: Allow your Chamomile tea to steep in hot water for 10-15 min. Then carefully remove the tea bag from your mug and allow it to cool off.  Cut the top half of the tea bag.

Step 5: Apply the mask gently on your face and massage it in a circular motion. (Avoid getting the mixture in your eyes) Let it stand for about 20-25 min.

(If your eyes are a bit swollen you can apply warm chamomile tea bags on your eyes which provides a soothing effect for tired eyes after starring at a computer for long hours or after watching TV.)

Remember this is all about relaxation and resting our minds. So you may want to block off 45 min to an hour to yourself. Read a good book, be still,  journal, or go sit outdoors and sip your tea. Try to refrain from distractions like watching t.v, Youtube or scrolling through social media. After an hour you can go back to your regular schedule.

* PS-Because its flu season I’ve added some honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice in my tea to strengthen my immune system. You’re welcome to do the same 🙂

After 25 minutes you can rinse your skin with cold water and pat dry afterward.  I often refer to this mask as my ‘Glo-up mask’ because it helps to remove dry skin cells and dead skin giving a beautiful glow to the skin.

My skin is still recovering from a bad break out I experience last year. But so far I am loving the progress!
